production completed

The phrase “production completed” marks an important milestone in the lifecycle of mine ventilation equipment. At this stage, axial-flow and centrifugal fans have progressed from design and fabrication through assembly and internal testing, and are now ready for final inspection, documentation and shipment. For customers, this status provides assurance that their order is on schedule and that the equipment has met the manufacturer’s quality requirements before leaving the factory.

After welding and machining of components such as housings, impellers, shafts and bases, each fan is assembled according to detailed work instructions. Critical dimensions, clearances and tolerances are verified, and impellers are dynamically balanced to minimise vibration during operation. Motors, bearings and seals are installed, and any special features—such as explosion-protected enclosures, silencers or variable-pitch mechanisms—are integrated and adjusted. During the production phase, intermediate inspections ensure compliance with drawings, standards and client specifications.

Before a fan can be declared “production completed,” it must pass mechanical run tests and, when required, performance tests on a test bench. These tests confirm smooth rotation, acceptable vibration levels, correct rotation direction and proper operation of auxiliary systems such as bearings lubrication and cooling. For major projects and critical main fans, witnessed tests with customer representatives or third-party inspectors may be part of the acceptance procedure. All results are recorded and traceable to the fan’s serial number.

Once testing is successful, the fan receives its final coatings and markings, and the quality team verifies that all requirements, documents and accessories are complete. Nameplates, certificates, manuals and spare parts lists are prepared. Only then is the status updated to “production completed,” signalling that the equipment can move into packing, loading and logistics planning. Communicating this status to the customer helps coordinate site preparations, such as foundation readiness, lifting arrangements and installation schedules. In this way, the “production completed” milestone links factory progress to the broader timeline of mine ventilation system implementation.
