Where the duty requires higher pressure—long duct runs, numerous elbows, or elevated leakage—contra-rotating axial stages can be used to extend the pressure envelope without increasing diameter.
Typical features include smooth inlet collectors, optimized blade profiles, and optional silencers to control noise near occupied areas. For gassy or dusty mines, explosion-proof motors and enclosures are specified along with anti-static ducting and compliant starters. VFD integration enables fine control of airflow as resistance changes with advance, keeping operation near peak efficiency and avoiding unnecessary energy consumption.
Selection is based on required face quantity and total pressure of the duct system.
